Title: U.S. 50 Ely-Area Chip Seal July 8-11
Road construction delays will be in place on U.S. 50 July 8 through 11 for Nevada Department of Transportation road work.
A chip seal will be placed on U.S. 50 from mile marker 61 to 66, between Ely and Ruth, July 8 through 11 from approximately 7 am to 4:30 pm daily.
One-way traffic with traffic controls and pilot cars will be in place to safely guide motorists through the road work zone, and delays of up to 20 minutes are to be expected. Motorists are advised to drive at posted construction speed limits, or slower as necessary for conditions.
The chip seal will help protect and prolong pavement life by repaving the roadway with crushed aggregate rock and asphalt. Often considered the best value for road maintenance dollar, chip seals also restore roadway friction and aesthetics.
