Title: Transmission Line Project Prompts Closures Near State Line

Story Text:

United Power Contractors (UPC) will be initiating lane closures from Tuesday, April 23through Thursday 25on I-15to install a transmission line on the California side, about a half a mile south of the California/Nevada state line. UPC is working for Southern California Edison, per a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) encroachment permit. Project work hours will run from 5a.m. to 2 p.m., each day. A helicopter installing the wire will periodically fly over the interstate. Per Caltrans encroachment permit requirements, the California Highway Patrol will initiate periodic traffic stops, not to last more than 15 minutes. In addition, there will be left lane closures northbound and southbound on I-15 near the California/Nevada state line. Additional dates for construction/closures may be required due to any delays caused by inclement weather or unforeseen factors. For more information on this project, please call Jason Rivera, UPC Project manager at (760) 504-6265.
