Title: Nightime Road Striping on I-15/Las Vegas

Story Text:

Beginning on Sunday, October 23rd, crews will begin striping the newly paved portion of I-15. Crews will pave from Sunday the 23rd until Wednesday the 26th and will pick up again the following week on Monday, October 31st until Thursday, November 3rd.

All operations are scheduled to occur during low traffic volume hours from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. with minimal lane closures.

Striping will be done using higher-reflectivity material called polyurea that will make striping more visible for drivers at night.

The striping helps wrap up the $6 million resurfacing project on Interstate 15 from Tropicana Ave. to the Spaghetti Bowl that began September 11th and was completed on October 10th, ten days ahead of schedule.

As part of NDOT’s conservation efforts, the agency used crumb rubber (recycled tires) as a paving material. In addition to being environmentally friendly, crumb rubber allows for a smoother commute with less road noise, better pavement drainage and longer durability.
